Top Gear - Paris, Super Cars, Glamour

For certain things happen, it is necessary that the universe conspires in a manner very special, Top Gear is one of these things. For those not familiar, I mean the best program there is about cars, aired by BBC2 in England and the BBC International, which has according to Reuters, the impressive audience of 355 MILLION people worldwide, it is almost 2x times the population of Brazil!

The Photography

Before anything I have to say, the photography of Top Gear, is the best photography of television in the world. The images are simply stunning. For example the most beautiful road in the world, between Davos in Switzerland, and Stelvio Pass in Italy. really spectacular.

The Hosts

One of the success of Top Gear is perfect chemistry that exists between the host. Jeremy Clarkson, an Englishman of almost 2 meters tall, very cynical, ironic and without mincing words. For him to say that a Mercedes or a BMW are crap, literally, do not need much. Politically incorrect, and a total contempt for North Americans. But curiously, his favorite car is American the Ford GT.
The persona created by Jeremy Clarkson is so strong that the other 2 hosts are with your counterpoint. The persona of James May is the English that is among the aristocratic and slow, of 3 is who more makes "ladder" to the tirades of humor that the show both shows, his nickname is "Captain Slow" (Captain Slow) by obvious reasons. The second part of the counterpoint, is Richard Hammond, the persona he is youthful and pop. It is the typical race car driver, low and lean, is nicknamed "Hamster" among fans, where the challenge requires a pilot, in the most literal sense of the word, he is the chosen one, something that almost cost him his life, when flipped in a rocket car.

The Structure and tests.

The "set" of the program, the shed is a former airfield of Dunsfold. The runway of the airfield is used for various tests like the car of better performance, which is tested by a pilot called "The Stig", who is always with visor lowered and can not be identified. Racing driver Perry McCarthy appeared in 22 Top Gear episodes as the black-suited, original Stig.

The Black Stig- McCarthy was cast as the Stig following a chance meeting with Jeremy Clarkson at the 2002 launch party for McCarthy's autobiography, Flat Out, Flat Broke: Formula 1 the Hard Way!. This led to an audition as a regular host, before the production team decided the racing driver would be anonymous. Contradicting in this, McCarthy said in 2008 that Clarkson had mentioned the idea of a "top secret" racing driver at their first meeting
The first White Stig made his entrance in 2 November 2003, in the episode following the Black Stig's exit. His identity remained secret until he was revealed as Ben Collins in August 2010. During this Stig's time on the show, the character's role expanded from Power Lap times and "Reasonably Priced Car" training to include appearances in other show segments, such as producing timed runs in the Isle of Man.  Once, Michael Schumacher was the Stig, and his record beaten by Rubens Barrichello in the Show, his former partner is eternal Second place in the Ferrari F1.
I really like Barrichello, he gave me one of the most emotional moment in F1 when he made the first place for the first time.

I selected videos of one of my favorite episodes. Jeremy Clarkson in your Ford Gt, James May (Captain Slow) in Ferrari F430 and Richard Hammond (The Hamster) in Pagani Zonda. Running on the beautiful roads of France,  Streets of Paris is the main destination, the super bridge, located in southeastern France.

Fusion a perfect combination of the mega structures engineering and mechanical engineering gear. 2 Artworks. Super cars and the world's highest bridge
A good example of the State of the Art.

It's definitely scary to see Richard piloting, the Pagani Zonda. Each curve a scare, or the car is like a brave bull, or he is very anxious. Although bulls are the Lamborghinis.

The big problem of French is that they remember all the details. But for them the little details are so microscopic that they can not see. This is from the Carrefour that has no small basket at the Marriott hotel that does not have a simple ramp for your obvious fortunate clients. "Paris, Super Cars, Glamour"

In some places of the world is good to incorporate the spirit of "Captain Slow", for example the dangerous roads of Bolivia or in that super bridge. Really Jacques Chirac France is very proud of this great achievement, but he forgot to mention that the engineer was English.

Talking about bridges...
Today is the jan25 birthday of São Paulo, my beloved city. This is our most famous bridge, I was there on opening day.
But honestly I also preferred, an English engineer to work on it. The bridge only has beauty, appearance (like many things). Is too little functional. Definitely is not the state of the art. Anyway I Love this city.

Today energy 5 need a fifth video. A little bonus video of stupid accident.
The old lady is amazing :)
